March with NICKNACK: Cups that save the planet and the reputation of events 🎉

In March, we had a blast with our returnable cups! We were part of various events throughout the Czech Republic and Slovakia – from running races to music festivals to traditional celebrations. And everywhere we helped reduce the amount of disposable waste and showed that ecology can be stylish, practical and self-evident.

🏃‍♂️ LIDL RUN TOUR
The first stop of this year’s LIDL RUN TOUR 2025 was České Budějovice, where we helped create a sustainable atmosphere with our cups. In the race area, drinks were served in reusable NICKNACK cups, which visitors could conveniently return. Runners and fans appreciated not only the ecological approach, but also the design of our cups. Cooperation with the organizers set a great standard for future races.

🎯 BIATHLON – World Cup in Nové Město na Mora
From March 6th to 9th, we participated in one of the biggest sporting events with our cups – the Biathlon World Cup in Vysočina Arena. Thousands of fans enjoyed not only the exciting races, but also refreshments served in Nicknack reusable cups. We were part of the system in the stands and thus helped reduce the volume of plastic waste.

🌸 Almond Festival Hustopeče – Wine, nature and sustainability
On March 21st–23rd, the traditional Almond Festival took place in Hustopeče, combining wine, gastronomy and walks through an almond orchard. At selected stops on the Almond Trail, we offered refreshments in reusable cups, which participants could return as part of a back-up system. The zero waste concept beautifully complemented the magical atmosphere and naturalness of the entire event.

🎸 DYMYTRY – Heavy caliber, lighter impact
The metal band Dymytry is known for its energy, but also for its environmental friendliness. At their concerts, we are part of the refreshment zone, where drinks flow by force – but exclusively into our cups.

🔍 NICKNACK in SAKO Brno – Directly to the source (and sorting)
At the end of March, we also visited SAKO Brno, a company providing waste collection and processing in the South Moravian metropolis. Thanks to the kindness of Mr. Mgr. Kačírek, we had the opportunity to tour the entire operation – an automatic sorting line and an incinerator.

We were most struck by the information that up to 70% of the contents of black bins is waste that could be recycled. This experience only strengthened our belief that it makes sense to continue what we are doing – offering an alternative to single-use plastics and supporting consistent sorting.
